THE HERBARIUM AT BAD HUNTER: UPROOTED

We found the cure for winter blues — a reading in the exquisitely cozy confines of The Herbarium above Bad Hunter! For our 16th installment of Between Bites, as local readers told stories around the theme, "Uprooted."

Our lineup:
Cassie Walker Burke, assistant managing editor, Crain's Chicago Business
Jason Hammel, chef/owner, Lula Cafe; chef, Marisol
Brian Jupiter, executive chef, Frontier
Carrie Nahabedian, chef/owner, NAHA and Brindille
Jeff Ruby, chief dining critic and features writer, Chicago Magazine
Karen Urie Shields, chef/owner, Smyth and The Loyalist

Proceeds from the night were donated to LEEP Beyond, which creates therapeutic and educational programs and services for children with developmental disabilities.

Special thanks to our hosts at The Herbarium, situated above Bad Hunter. And to our dessert partner, Bittersweet Pastry Shop, as well as our spirits sponsors Laguintas Brewing, Glendalough Whiskey and Cream Wine. Also a shout-out to our podcast guru Adam Miller, and our photographer Rebecca Peplinski
